Writer Renee Houston Zemanski started using chia seeds after she wrote a health article for TASTE on this super food. Since then, they've become a staple in the Zemanski household. Here, Renee shares one of her own concoctions. Thanks to her son, Houston, for the photo.
Yummy chia smoothie
1-2 cups frozen fruit (berries, peaches, etc.)
1-1/2 cups V-8 Fusion juice (Pick one that will go with the type of fruit you are using. For example, I use Peach-Mango when I use peaches).
1 cup light yogurt (vanilla)
1 or 2 bananas
2 tablespoons chia seeds
Pour frozen fruit and V-8 in blender (you may have to add more juice). Use ice crusher on blender to crush fruit. Add rest of ingredients and blend.
