Dill pickles
Fits in a 16 ounce mason jar.
Ingredients
2 cups white vinegar
1 cup water
1 crushed garlic clove
2 T salt
2 sprigs fresh dill weed
Instructions
Pack your jar with fresh, crunchy, sliced cucumber.
Mix the remaining ingredients in a saucepan and slowly heat until all ingredients have dissolved.
Continue heating until you reach a light boil.
Carefully pour the hot pickling liquid into your jar of pickles, right up to the brim.
Carefully put the lid on and them transport the jar to the refrigerator.
Let the pickles sit for two weeks before giving them a try. They will continue to develop their flavor profile over time, and will keep for months or more in the fridge.
