June 28 marks Induction Day for the incoming freshman class to the U.S. Naval Academy. Students begin the day with a hair cut and become acclimated with their new home for the next four years.
After taking the Oath of Office that evening, the plebes will say goodbye to their family and friends and commence Plebe Summer training. Plebe Summer marks the transition students make from civilians to midshipmen.
This year approximately 1,190 young men and women will arrive for I-Day.
