Not only are humans spending a lot of time working outside in their yards and gardens this spring but wildlife are appearing in our gardens too. Here are some tips for keeping unwanted animals out of your garden. Rabbits enjoy feeding on young and tender plants in flower and vegetable gardens. To exclude them from vegetable gardens, erect two-foot high chicken wire fencing secured to the ground or buried several inches. Other options include covering small groups of plants with floating row cover, or using commercial repellents, blood meal, or a sprinkling of hot pepper flakes around plants.
